Bible

Witnessing to someone one day, I was told to "Get the hell out of my face." While I did not speak it out but rather thought it, I wanted to tell him, "Sir, that is just what I want to do, "Get the HELL out of your face and replace it with HEAVEN."

"The best time to KNOW the Word of God is when you don’t NEED IT."  Many people wait until they have a life crisis to turn to the Word. This is not the time because it takes time for you to meditate on the Word for it to be a reality in your heart. Attempting to learn the Word at a moment of crisis is like trying to learn to fly a plane when the pilot just died of a heart attack—worth a try, but not the most effective timing! You may recover from it, but it will be a taxing experience. Had you known how to fly beforehand, there would not be an issue.

"As long as people are talking about me it is a good sign. It is when they STOP talking about me is when I get concerned." If people are not talking about you, it may be a sign that you are not doing enough for the Kingdom of God. Jesus said, "Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you!" (Luke 6:26). The Bible also talks about people that are "...despisers of those that are good" (II Timothy 3:3).

"Faith gives FORM to the things we cannot see." (Hebrews 11:1 – Amplified Bible) says, "Faith gives substance to the things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." For example, while you cannot SEE the air in a balloon, the air gives substance (i.e.,  shape/form) to the balloon even though we cannot see it. The shape of the balloon is the evidence that there is something in it. This is how faith works for a believer.

"Faith does not deny logic; faith defies logic."   For example, the law of lift does not deny the law of gravity, it defies (supersede) the law of gravity—the law of gravity is still in effect. Like gravity, faith does not deny the existence of sickness or diseases; it simply defies it. If you have a cold, and you are "barking like a dog," don't say you do not have a cold (denying)—you do. Just believe God in faith for your healing (defying).

"While I cannot judge, I can examine." Many people are quick to say, "You should not judge (me)." And they are right. The Bible says, "Judge not, that ye be not judged…" (Matthew 7:1).  However, I can EXAMINE. The Bible says, "you will know them by their fruits…" (Matthew 7:16), and "If any man among you seems to be religious and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain." (James 1:26).

"A miracle is a supernatural working of God out of the ordinary."  People have a tendency to use the word "miracle" loosely.  For example, there are many infomercials in which people will testify that a product is a “miracle product.”  No, it's not. It works the way it was intended to work—that's not a miracle.  That a person can see is not a miracle because sight is ordinary for a person to do.  Now, that may be awesome, but it is not a miracle.   However, if a person is blind and then began to see, then that's a miracle. When Jesus changed water into wine, that was a miracle because water usually does not change to wine.

"That’s life." When we see people helping other people who are less fortunate than we are, my wife and I often will say to each other, "That’s life."

"Dynamite is good if it is used right." If you ask many people what the Bible says about wine, they will be quick to say that Jesus turned water into wine or Paul told Timothy, "Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities." I Timothy 5:23. However, while there are hundreds of references in the Bible to wine, it is very seldom do you hear people say, "Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise." Proverbs 20:1. Or Proverbs 23:20-21, 29-30, "Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh: For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags." "Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eye? They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine." Notice the Bible does not condemn drinking wine but it does speak of not being drunk. "Be not drunk with wine wherein is excess, but be filled with the Spirit." (Ephesians 5:18).

"Just as a meteorite may not destroy the whole earth, it can definitely make an impact." Likewise, your effort may not save the whole world but it can definitely make an impact on it.

"I don't drink, I don't smoke, and I don't chew, but I do hang out with those do." Jesus "hung out" with sinners and tax collectors of his day and the religious leaders of his time didn't like it. "Now it happened, as Jesus sat at the table in the house, that behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples. And when the Pharisees saw it, they say to His disciples, 'Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?' When Jesus heard that, He said to them, 'Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice.' For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance." (Matthew 9:10-13).

"It is more important to BELIEVE what you SAY than to SAY what you BELIEVE." Many people say what they believe but they don't actually believe that it will happen. Jesus said, "For  verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith." (Mark 11:23). The psalmist said, "I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living." (Psalms 27:13).

"The worst kind of deception is self-deception." Others can deceive you. You can deceive others. But the worst kind of deception is when you deceive yourself. "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." (James 1:22). "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." (1 John 1:8), "Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise." (I Corinthians 3:18), or Galatians 6:3 which says, "For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself."

"Never assume my meekness for weakness—there is a difference." Often people will confuse your meekness for weakness. However, meekness is strength under control. Jesus was meek, but he was not weak when he said, "... I am meek and lowly in heart..." (Matthew 11:29).

"I usually don't tell people that I am a Christian." If I have to tell you that I am one, I might not be doing enough to convince you that I am one.
