ABOUT

  • Do you hate having to remember so many formulas to determine the area of 2D geometric shapes?
  • Do you wish there was a way to remember and understand 2D geometric shapes better? (for example, the difference between a rhombus and a trapezoid)
  • Do you wish you could determine the areas of 2D geometric shapes fast and easy?

If you answered YES to ANY of these questions, then this app is for you.

The purpose of this app is to show a student how to quickly determine or estimate the area of several regular 2D geometric shapes easily and efficiently by placing them "INSIDE A BOX" (square or rectangle) and using simple techniques.

The advantage of this approach is instead of having to learn MULTIPLE formulas; a student can use a SINGLE formula (the rectangular formula with a twist) with some simple techniques that can be applied to a shape to determine the area of nine different 2D geometric shapes.

These techniques are particularly useful for users:

  • with a cognitive disability
  • with a visual disability
  • who have to take a test where there is a certain amount of time to complete it

2D (Two-dimensional) - having the dimensions of height and width only but not depth which would make it 3D.

Area is the measurement of the number of square units INSIDE the surface of a 2D shape. Hence, it is always measured in square units (for example, 12 in2).
