Have Fun with the Heart of Art
Let’s take heart and start with the heart of the matter: I learned by heart and I know by heart to follow my heart so I wanted to create a perfect heart in Adobe Illustrator. With your best interest at heart, I decided with all my heart to have a heart-to-heart demonstration done:
- I will start half-heartedly with a broken heart or a heart of stone (e.g., using the pen tool to draw a heart with no curves)
- I had a change of heart so I will pull on my heart strings to my heart’s content to smooth out my heavy heart.
- I will turn on the red fill color to have a bleeding heart but an open heart.
- I will click near to my heart with the reflect tool and use ALT and the SHIFT key to get a reflection of my heart to the other side to have my heart in the right place.
- However, I still have two broken hearts side by side that I needed to mend so I need to perform a open heart surgery.
- While absence makes the heart grow fonder, I needed to mend the two broken hearts. From the top of my heart, I will select the two points to join the heart halves together using ALT+CTRL+SHIFT+J.
- From the bottom of my heart, I will join the other two points together to have a whole heart.
- To do the heart good, I will change the color to have a heart of gold.
- Without my heart missing a beat, I found it in my heart to give my heart a stroke—not a heart attack but a stroke.
- While this is not for the faint of heart, I have my heart set on changing my heart to a 3D heart.
- While I have no heart for striking at the heart, I will split the heart in two—it tears my heart out to do this.
- I will bring the two shattered hearts back together again with undo.
- Ha! Ha! Eat your heart out.
