In this app will we explore common French and Spanish words that are spoken in the English language and how some of their meanings refer to a completely different thing. For example, cul-de-sac in French literally means, "the bottom (buttocks) of a bag", yet is has come to mean a dead-end residental street in the US.The word sabotage in French literally means wooden shoes. However, today it means a subversive destruction, from the practice of workers fearful of industrialization destroying machines by tossing their sabots ("wooden shoes") into machinery to break them.
