Features Unique To Mac

You can record iOS devices and use Gestures effects (e.g., tap, swipe, or pinch)

  1. You need the following:
    • A computer that is running macOS 10.10 or greater.
    • A device running iOS 8.0 or greater and pick an orientation before recording.
    • A lightening cable (Connector with 30 pins will not work)
  2. Connect the computer to the device and turn both on.
  3. Open Camtasia, open the record by clicking on the red recorder button at the top/left corner, and select the mobile device (e.g., iPhone). To capture your voice, enable the microphone, and to capture system audio, enable System Sound.'
  4. If you plan to enable microphone and system audio, It best to have headphones to prevent device sounds from echoing in the recording.
  5. Click the Record Button.
  6. Performs the steps you need to take on the device and then click the Stop button.
    7. In the Gesture Effects tab, drag-and-drop any of the following effect to simulate the gestures that you want to show:
    • Double Tap
    • Pinch
    • Swipe
    • Tap
    • Tap and Hold
  7. In the effect tray, adjust the effect bar size and location as needed. You can also use the Properties panel to make additional adjustments (e.g., Reverse, Easing, Color, Opacity). You can also adjust the position of the gesture on the canvas by moving a circle with an "x" in it.
